Original cast member Janice Lynde is returning to THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS! The soap has confirmed that she will be reprising her role of Leslie Brooks for multiple episodes scheduled to air in mid-October.
Lynde first appeared as Leslie back in 1973 when Y&R premiered and portrayed the character until 1977 when Victoria Mallory took over until 1984. However, when the character returned to Genoa City for the soap’s 45th anniversary in 2018, Lynde reclaimed her role.
In addition to Y&R, Lynde has appeared on GENERAL HOSPITAL, ANOTHER WORLD, and ONE LIFE TO LIVE as well as primetime series like QUINCY, FAMILY TIES, NIGHT COURT, WHO’S THE BOSS, and SIX FEET UNDER. Most recently, she starred as Peggy in the streaming series DIARY OF A SINGLE MOM.
Leslie was an accomplished concert pianist who dealt with nervous breakdowns and amnesia as she had her heart broken by multiple men in Genoa City. She was also constantly clashing with her sister, Lorie Brooks. Leslie last came home in 2018 when she was one of the many alumni attending the Walnut Grove centennial celebration. However, back in July, Leslie’s name was mentioned when Summer revealed that she had come in for a dress fitting at Marchetti in Italy for the concert that Nikki and Victor were to attend while in Europe.
Will Leslie be coming back to Genoa City for a visit or will someone be visiting her in Europe? And what kind of drama will she get mixed up in this time? You’ll just have to stay tuned to Y&R to find out!
