Fans can enjoy seeing a whole new side of GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Nicholas Alexander Chavez (Spencer) in his new movie, Crushed! “Had a blast making this movie with some very funny people,” he declared on Instagram. “Check it out!” And conveniently, Crushed is now streaming on Tubi, so you can watch it on your TV, your phone, tablet, or any other streaming device!
In the teen comedy, Chavez plays Jason Curtis, who he described to Soap Opera Digest as “an overhyped d-bag.” But naturally, the girls all love him, and one girl, in particular, makes it her mission to get closer to him during a school trip. The young actor called the flick “a bunch of ridiculous people and characters all coming together for the most fun spring break trip that you’ve ever seen.”
As he’s just starting out on his acting career, Chavez admitted that he’s very grateful to have already garnered some experience on set at GH. “I felt more confident than I would have had I not been doing GH. But it was still a unique experience in that I was on location. I mean, any time you’re working with a new crew, new cast, it kind of jars your system a bit and you have to acclimate. But I was far less green than I would have been had I not started doing GH!”
Another challenge to filming the movie was that he was doing it while still starring on GH, often taping the soap during the day and the film at night. “It would be 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. shooting Crushed, then 7 a.m. to noon doing GH, and then I’d try to get some sleep,” he recalled. “I tried to manage my energy reserves as diligently as possible but also, I had some good friends to call on who were willing, if I was too tired, to drive me to and from sets so that I could partially sleep in the car on my way over and get an extra hour.”
Check out the trailer for Crushed below, and then load up Tubi to see the result of all Chavez’s hard work!
