On November 14, 2017, a character arrived in Port Charles who eventually turned out to take after his notorious father and became one of the town’s most dangerous villains. And now Wes Ramsey is celebrating his fourth anniversary as Peter on GENERAL HOSPITAL!
“Four years ago today I had the privilege of bringing Peter August into the magical world of Port Charles for the very first time,” he shared on Instagram. “It has been an honor — and a roller coaster — for me ever since.
“For all the fans who have stuck by me,” Ramsey continued, “to the ones I’ve one over from time to time, and even all the rest that I’m still working on, it has been one of the great privileges of my life to perform for you and try to keep you entertained these last four years. So here’s to keeping the controversy stirring and still shaking the trees!”
Ramsey made his daytime debut back in 2000 when he joined the cast of CBS sudser GUIDING LIGHT as Sam Spencer, brother to Crystal Chappell’s Olivia Spencer. He remained on that soap until 2004, but returned for a brief appearance in 2008. He also had a brief run as Owen Kent on NBC’s DAYS OF OUR LIVES in 2009, but many TV viewers might also recognize Ramsey for his appearance on primetime drama CHARMED as the grown-up version of Leo and Piper’s son, Wyatt Halliwell.
In November 2017, the actor debuted on GH as Peter August, the new COO of Aurora Media. But he was soon revealed to be the mysterious Henrik Faison, son of notorious supervillain Cesar Faison! Although his romance with Maxie got off on an awkward foot, Peter seemed to be making amends and turning a corner as they prepared to welcome their baby into the world. Unfortunately, Peter’s evil schemes were exposed and he went full-on bad guy as he killed to cover his tracks!
Although Peter was briefly presumed dead after Finn pushed him down a flight of stairs at the hospital, he resurfaced and has been advancing his evil schemes, using mind control on Drew and hoping to find his daughter, Louise. If Peter truly does take after his father, he’s going to be a hard man to kill. Like they say, evil never dies! So keep watching GH to see what the villain does next!
