Congratulations to Kelly Monaco and Billy Miller, who celebrated their anniversaries at GENERAL HOSPITAL on Oct. 1! Yes, both actors made their debuts on the soap on the same day, although many years apart. “It’s our anniversary!” Monaco tweeted. “I’m 15, he’s four. Thank you to all of our awesome fans for going on this crazy journey with us. I have been more than blessed to get to laugh, cry, and play a superhero in stilettos. Cheers to 15 more.”
Monaco first appeared on GH in the Oct. 1, 2003 episode as con artist Sam McCall. She was brought over shortly after the cancellation of sister soap PORT CHARLES, where she became a fan favorite playing Olivia “Livvie” Locke Morley and twin Tess Ramsey. She received a Daytime Emmy Award nomination in 2003 for Outstanding Supporting Actress for her work on PC, and then a Outstanding Lead Actress nod in 2006 for her role on GH.
Miller broke into daytime as Richie Novak on ALL MY CHILDREN, and when his character was killed off, he was quickly cast on THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS as a recast of Billy Abbott. On Oct. 1, 2014, the actor joined the cast of GH as a recast of Jason Morgan, but it was later revealed that he was really Jason’s previously-unknown twin brother, Drew Cain (it’s complicated!). Miller has received five Daytime Emmy Award nominations for his work on Y&R and one for GH. He took home Outstanding Supporting Actor trophies in 2010 and 2013, then Lead Actor in 2014 for his work on the CBS sudser.
Best wishes to both daytime stars on their anniversaries, and the treats that the “Killy” fans sent them look absolutely delicious! Here’s to many more anniversaries to come in the future!
